OK, this may sound more than a little odd to some of you.
My family has a cat. She's 21. For the first, say, 10 years that we had her [we got her when she was about 9, 10], she didn't move very much and frequently preferred a dark corner to the litterbox. Come to find out, she'd been severely constipated for those ten long years. The vet gave us some kitty laxative and she's much better now. It is my job to administer this brown, thick liquid twice daily. Oh joy, lucky me. On the bottle, it said that I should put a little on her nose to stimulate 'taste interest' and then put a 'ribbon' of the stuff on her paw to lick off. She didn't. I had to hold her down and wash her off in the sink, as this stuff is tad bit thicker than molasses and just as sticky-- especially to fur. So, I've been globbing it all on her nose, and she licks it off, but this requires the use of my index finger to transfer it from the sqeeze tube [it's like a toothpaste tube] to her little pink nose. You don't know how ucky that stuff is. It never totally comes off. I know she hates it as much as I do. [It's not that hard to tell, really, she runs away and tries to squirm out of my grasp when I get her if she sees that little pink tube or a brown mess on my finger.] I must ask all you cat-owners/lovers or anyone else out there in ForumWorld: IS THERE A BETTER WAY? She won't even eat treats I set out for her anymore because she's so paranoid. There might be laxative in them! I can't trust that girl, not a bit, when it comes to consumables. If she knew I was the one that refilled her food dish, she might just starve.

Note: Of course the OTHER cat loves the taste. He even chewed up the bottle to get some. The dog licks my hand after I administer it to the cat. Talk about luck.
