It's not so bad. Really. Though there are certainly places in and around this city I avoid at all costs, there is enough beauty in things like the view of the Valley at night from Mulholland to make me occasionally glad I'm here. (I did just return, however, from southern Ohio/northern Kentucky, and nothing compares to how DARK it gets in them thar hills.)
