I'm trying very hard not to be the only pickled onion in the happy fruit salad of congratulations here, but this is a reason to get married? OK, whatever works for you guys. I hope you enjoy the anniversary several years from now; I envisage Jason turning up and chasing you around with a chainsaw and then going "Ha ha! Just my little joke. I just stopped by to wish you kids happy anniversary" and whipping out a big bunch of flowers and a gift-wrapped silver cake fork set.
To be more serious, I *do* realise that your spontaneity was only in bringing your planned marriage date *forward*, not deciding on the spur of the moment to get married at all. That makes quite a major difference. How did your parents react, though? Weren't they disappointed not to be involved or present at this important event in your lives? If I turned up one day and said "Oh, hey, I forgot to tell you, I got married last week", I can only imagine what my family and friends would do to me, and it wouldn't be worth the hospital bills.
