May 17 - About a Boy

I saw the movie last night, and it opens tomorrow. The movie stars Hugh Grant, who is typically Hugh Grant. Rachel Weisz seemed slightly out of place, since the movie was not set in Egypt and did not have mummies jumping out of thin air, but she didn't have that big of a role, anyway. The kid in the movie reminded me slightly of Matthew, except for the fact that Matthew is cooler. Oh, and the kid had psychotic eyebrows.

The movie had a few lines that brought down the house, but it was a bit slow at other times. I wouldn't pay full-price to see it, but for a free movie with six friends, it was worth it.

I also enjoyed seeing the line of people waiting to see Star Wars. I stopped and talked to some of the people near the front of the line, and they had been there since 10 a.m. I suppose there could be worse things than waiting in line for 14 hours. Maybe. Most of them had lawn chairs or cushions to sit on, and the group at the front had a canopy and a table with a pile of board games. It looked like fun.
