This is the title of the book that I am almost finished reading for my US/NC History class. The theme of this book seems to be that the United States' upper class is an evil conspiracy that controls the world and unerringly uses its vast power to destroy all that is good, just and counterproductive to their continued material gain. Furthermore, the government is always portrayed as hand-in-hand with the rich, never anywhere near representing the will of the people and constantly trying to decieve its citizens and strip them of their rights. Reading it has depressed me mightily.
Has anyone else read this book? What did you think of it? Did I understand what Zinn was saying at all? Is he correct?
