My peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are usually somewhat thick with peanut butter, and I love peanut butter on celery. I alternate between Peter Pan creamy and any brand of natural peanut butter -- the kind that separates when it sits, and you have to stir before spreading. That stuff is goooood. Nice and strong.
Yeah! Natural peanut butter RULES. Only problem with it is that it's comparatively expensive. Oh, and that one has to stir it, which can be a pain. My alternate - when I can't or don't get natural peanut butter - is creamy Skippy. I don't much care for jelly, though; sweet is not really my friend. So, basically, I use a moderately-large amount of peanut butter and a thin layer of jelly, though I prefer preserves; I like bits of fruit.
And I don't give a hang which way the sandwich is put together. Sorry. :-}
