The whole Dave Gorman thing, for those in the dark, is a reference to a comedian's quest to meet people with his name. He was challenged to find 54 Dave Gormans, one for each card in the pack including jokers. He also set himself a distance limit of (iirc) 150 mpdg (miles per Dave Gorman). To make life interesting, he televised his search.

He found around 49 Dave Gormans, and the rest were made of people persuaded to legally change their name. Two of those people were female, and two were even a couple. One person thoughtfully named a star Dave Gorman, but it was ignored as it upped the mpdg to a few thousand light years and would have been very difficult to actually meet in person.

If you get the chance to see the show, watch it. It's a good laugh.
