Technically, the answer to number 9 *should* be China, since that is where they originated. They only became widely known after they were imported by New Zealand growers and became a major crop here. The name was changed to kiwifruit, presumably for marketing reasons: the fruit is brown and fuzzy-looking on the outside like the kiwi, NZ's national bird. I understand kiwifruit are called kiwis in the USA.
A couple of years ago, a bright yellow-fleshed kiwifruit was developed. It had a completely different taste and was aimed at the Asian export market. Since "yellow kiwifruit" didn't sound trendy enough, they were sold under the name "Zespri", of all bizarre things.
