Now that Sam has moved the test and turned it into CGI, that won't be a problem anymore. Not that I'm implying being Stephen is a problem. Er.

The test chooses your result from a list of 21 names. I chose those people based on several factors, the most obvious of which was that I had to know them well enough to decide "Ok, that person is representative of this answer." I tried to pick them to give a good range of ages, interests and personality types.

Each name on the list starts with a score of zero and one point is added to the appropriate names whenever you choose an answer. When you finish, it adds up the scores for all the names and tells you the one who got the highest score. If your choices lead to a tie between two or more names, your result will be based on a highly technical method known as "whichever one was first on the list", because I neither know nor have time to find out how to make it any more accurate than that.

Another factor in this test is that, for many of the questions, I didn't know the right answers for a lot of people. In those cases, I guessed. Again, this was based on scientific methods such as thinking "It just seems like he would prefer dogs" or "Her screen name starts with the same letter as that answer" instead of some far-fetched thing like asking the person.

So what does all this mean for the average person taking the test? It means that if you get your own name as a result, I know you scarily well and probably also have hidden surveillance cameras in your house. If you don't get your own name as a result, it probably means you're gratuitously failing to conform to all the stereotypical ideas I have of you, in which case I think it's clearly your own fault.
