Isn't it the essential part of the jackknife, just as cheese is what defines a -- all right, I'll stop dredging up that discussion again (although I think my reasoning still stands). Without a knife blade, you would have something like a jacktweezers or jackscissors, in which case, a knife blade would be a mere attachment.

Although I can't see a highly sarcastic response from Sam here yet, I'm sure one will arrive soon. In the meantime, I must simply say that I voted for "Saw" because saws are just so incredibly useful. You can, for instance, cut things in half. And...er...cut other...things...in half. However, I do wish that there was a "with this proviso..." box on the poll, because I would then write "provided it was actually a chainsaw." How cool would it be to carry around a three-inch chainsaw in your pocket? You could recreate the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in miniature whenever you liked, and then go to the petrol station to buy 5 cc's of petrol to refuel.

I am aware that I am now rambling, so I will point you to an excellently cool mini-movie: the Lego Chainsaw Massacre. Go to www.ifilm.com and do a search for the Lego Movie Showcase - ONE: A Space Odyssey is a good one.
