The Eyes Wide Shut site probably had about 400 people involved including all the marketers, creators, and money-holders. EWS had to work with committees, Blair Witch had a group of people.
Well, I think that there is a difference. EWS had a VERY secretive plot up until its release. The trailers and commercials said very little about the movie and so I'd expect the web site to do the same. There had been a ton of secrecy surrounding the movie for the two or so years it had been in production and Kubrick kept things under wraps pretty well. BWP on the other hand was a very small movie that relied on the cool premise and word of mouth to get noticed and the film makers really used the internet as a tool to help promote it.

That's a good plan. See the movie then check out the site. A lot of groovy background info and stuff. And it's fairly well designed (though I'm against the use of shockwave stuff) too. A good site, but I wish they'd sort out the non-spoiler stuff from the spoiler stuff.
