*Is* he sleeping? *Is* he eating properly? *Is* he getting any exercise (outside preferably)?

---No problems in this area.=0)

> Secondly, and don't laugh at this - is he in love?

---He does have a crush on a girl in his class. She likes him too, but he is too shy to tell her that he likes her. =0)

> Thirdly, what are his teachers like? Does he have just one, with whom he may have an adversarial relationship?

---I know that he does not like is math teacher. This is the class that he is having the wrost time in too, but she is the only math teacher at his middle school.

> I hesitate to ask this, but where is his father in this process?

---My husband (Richard) is a truck driver so he is not home often. He will be going over the road with Richard this summer though, which will help then but doesn't do much to help right now.

You will not be able to let him sink or swim on his own - you may even try to, but it likely won't work: involved and caring parents (as you obviously are) are proactive, and unwilling to let go that much!

---I know!!! How do you fight against the maternal instincts to save your child ? =0(
