I have a free Sam's membership (my mom has one, and she can add one family member), and I have the college student dilemma. Well, I don't know if it's the college student dilemma, or if it's just the "I don't have 14 spare freezers and 36 empty cupboards in which to store mondo-sized containers of food" dilemma. It's a mild bummer, because I see some very good deals there. But I do manage to make room for coffee creamer, dried cranberries, the occasional splurge for a case of Snapple, and bread machine mixes (those things are a DEAL).

For me, the best deals are on film and the developing. I recently bought a seven-roll pack of Kodak Max, 400 speed, 24 exposure film for $10, and then I got 4x6-inch doubles developed for $3.89 per roll. You just can't beat that price, especially if you carry a camera at all times and have apparently added photography to your list of hobbies. (Hey, I can't resist taking a picture of someone climbing into the trunk of my car, or of Governor Gray Davis at close range. Oooh, there's an idea! I wonder what the odds are that Governor Davis will ever climb into the trunk of my car.)

Now, back to food. Why is it that so many forum threads and Chat conversations lead to food? Is it the common bond that ties us all together? Just imagine how very different we would be if there was no food. OK, I guess that idea doesn't work.
