I've set myself up as a user, but at the moment, the documents in User "samhellea", are the same as in the default ("Damworthson"). I want to know, if I delete them out of "Damworthson", will they still be in "samhellea", and if I were to press the close button at the login prompt, would it show all the files, including those in "samhellea", and those in other user's areas? (which I don't want)

Hmm. I haven't fiddled with 98 for a while. Time to fire up VMware.

*a couple minutes later*

OK, when you go to the Control Panel and open Users, it should bring up one of those stupid "wizards" for creating a user. It'll ask you the name, password, and what you want to personalize. On the page that asks you what to personalize, select all the checkboxes and select "Create new items to save disk space". That should do it. And, if in doubt, back something up, delete it, and then log in as another user to see if it's still there.

However, since you're running 98, your level of security is about nil. If somebody, for example, wants to look at something in the My Documents folder for another account, all they have to do is go to C:\Windows\Profiles\[user name]\My Documents. If you really want security, you need to get Windows 2000 or XP. It's a bit harder to set up, but unless an actual hacker tries to get at your files, I think it's pretty secure.
