I never thought so. Of course my parents knew that could happen to me, so I think they made it clear to my immediate relatives that they would *not* be pleased to see me get cheapskate gifts like that. I can only recall getting a gift like that one year, and even then I think it was actually two books wrapped together with a card that said that.
