Hi there,
here is the next rather-do-it-yourself-unexperienced-freak-user. I get a similar message like Don when I'm trying to install a programme with an Win98-imm32.dll although I'm running Win98. Unfortunately I haven't got a clue how to fix it but I can write down here what I did so far, may be that saves time as you don't have to repeat those unsuccessful procedures. First I tried simply to uninstall and re-install the programme. Next I uninstalled the programme again, got WinOptimizer and deleted all useless registry-entries without any success. Then I downloaded a new imm32.dll from the internet and copied it into the system directory - no. I checked the Microsoft support pages (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q249873), but there is only the first part of my error message described as errror and the second part (the Pview stuff) is given as problem description - very sorry. I wrote to the programmer who suspected another programme to put a different imm32.dll somewhere that is somehow prevented from being altered now and that's why it doesn't work (wow). O.k. finally, I formatted my HDD, installed Win98 again and put only this programme on and - it still didn't work. To make it perfect, I installed that programme on a friends computer who is also using Win98, running a 100 useless programmes on that machine and it worked without any problems???!!!
Don't know what went wrong, the only thing I noticed was that the programme was working immediately after installing on my friends machine (I mean without reboot) whereas I was requested to reboot twice in that process. Once after updating the windows installer and once to finish the installation of the programme.
Best regards. Herman ze german
