Well.. ;)

That, I suppose, depends on your definition of "know a few things about". I definitely know enough to make silly posts on the subject, and I'll do my best regarding serious ones :)

Assuming "over there" means Europe, they are widely used, especially in large cities, where there isn't much room. I was in Florence two years ago, and to me it seemed that the big incentive to get yourself a scooter would be that you could just go anywhere, anytime: The road, the pavement (in US, that would be the sidewalk, I seem to remember); in between cars waiting at the red lights, running the red ligths (I doubt that's the expression, but you know what I mean?), without lights in the middle of the night; _anything_ is permitted when you're on a scooter in Italy :).

Assuming "over there" means Denmark, well, there are plenty around, but the bicycle is more popular. A couple of years back, a new type of motorscooter was introduced (I can't remember exactly how, but I bet it was some sort of financial govermental aid to get cars out of the city: Here, when you discuss motorized transport, everyone thinks first of the cost (how does 180% tax on new cars grab you?) and then of the environment. Sigh.), and they have become quite popular. But most of the scooters in of that type have stinking two-stroke engines, which reminds me of the single worst thing about visiting Florence, namely the smell from a tenthousand two-stroke engines. And blimey, if Copenhagen didn't start smelling of Florence!
Hmf. Now I got that of my back, we can go back to discussing interesting things again :)

Do you restore them, or "just" collect them?

Julian
