No, no. Jackson is known for doing creatively *weird* movies in all genres. He's not a "gory horror movie" director, though he's always been best at doing creepy, dark and intense. He's coming at this from indie and arthouse roots, not from a long list of Hollywood slasher flicks. (I know someone will draw attention to "Bad Taste" and "Meet the Feebles", but hey. Everyone's got to start somewhere.)
Personally, I thought right from when I first heard about the project that if any director on earth could even come *close* to doing LoTR properly, it would be Jackson.
