Yeah, that would be nice. I technically could take the class, I'd just need to take (being Not In The Right Major) a TON of unnecesary prerequisite courses. And I don't want to take the class so badly that I'll add on yet another semester to my college career. I'm already at 4 1/2 years.

Actually, no he didn't. At least according to my books (yes, I used to read Xanth all the time... and I have most of the *early* books which are *by far* the best in the series) the cover art was done by Darrell K. Sweet. Michael Whelan is, I think, best known for his illustrations for Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series. That's where I first encountered his work, at least, and it's a pity that the newer books don't have cover art by him.

Speaking of Xanthly cover art, somewhat amusing story... the first time I met one of my best friends, I was reading Heaven Cent. If you don't know what the cover is, it's of a skeletal boat with... well, a naked kid in it. (But he's facing the other way so nothing shows.) It makes sense in the context of the story, honestly... although it did always strike me as kind of odd but whatever. Anyway, to this VERY DAY - over SIX YEARS LATER - she has NEVER let me forget that book, because of the weird cover. It's become a running joke.

Sosi"I think I'd agree with that opinion"qui
