I had that happen to me once after having my teeth cleaned. My explanation was that the plaque on my teeth had built up a protective barrier over an open nerve ending and the removal of the plaque made me ultra-sensitive. Of course, if I continue to believe that, then I may never go in to the dentist for a cleaning again...
