On the other hand, if the Civil War had involved
the use of guerilla warfare on both sides,
might it not have dragged on for far longer,
and quite possibly never have been resolved?
Casualties might have been lower in the short
term, but perhaps not over the long term. If the
Civil War had gone that way, we might still be
fighting it today.
