The Americans also employed guerilla tactics which were very effective against the British, who marched right down the road, lined up on the battlefield in neat little rows, and expected their enemy to do the same. It's a shame that we had, for the most part, forgotten all our clever tactics of "not lining up right in front of our enemies which would lead to horrific casualties in each battle" when the Civil War rolled around.
