I have a theory about the smoke clouds in Vegas. The place is a gambler's Mecca. Gamblers are risk takers. Smoking is risky. Therefore, lots of gamblers smoke. I think that may also explain some of the traffic hazards in Las Vegas.

I, for one, really appreciate the smoke free environments in California. I don't like having to say "non-smoking" every time I go into a restaurant. The smoke drifts into the non-smoking area any way.
