That's standard practice here in Pittsburgh.
We cross the street any time we feel like. And
the drivers know this, and accept it. When we
took a field trip to Washington D.C., we had to
be a lot more careful because they're not as
eager to stop for a jaywalking pedestrian.

I remember earlier in this year, I believe it was,
the city police tried to crackdown on jaywalkers
downtown and started giving $94 citations to
people they caught jaywalking. Boy, did the
police department catch hell for that.
Jaywalking is essentially a part of life here in
Pittsburgh.
