Heh. I'm answering my own question from another message in this thread, I admit it...but anyway...

I punched "cousins relationships" into Google, and this was the first link on the list; 'tis a good one too. It's a nice handy chart showing what relation two people are given their relationships to a common ancestor-- at least I can make sense of it, though I'm not sure whether anyone who thinks differently from me will be able to. :)

According to this, the aforementioned daughter of my first cousin would indeed be, as Kikipegette said, my first cousin once removed, rather than my second cousin as Eric and I had thought. (Mea culpa...)
