Everybody is saying that those fire fighters in New York are heros. No question about it. I saw video of one of them climbing down through a mass of twisted steel looking for survivors. Others are in the hospital, or dead. They seem to have the stuff that heros are made of. Not just a few of them, and it's not just in New York, either. Fire fighters everywhere are a special breed. I just hope somebody will remember that the next time they negotiate a contract. Maybe they can include more than a 2% raise.
