I have that feeling with this really ancient New Wave and Progressive Rock tape that my father recorded from the local radio station when I was 4 years old. It's lame, like elevator music, but it's still amazingly cool. I sit in my apartment and sing my heart out to Susan Vega, and any number of random New Wave stars....my roomate thinks I am nuts. She calls it, "Elevator/Jazz/lame. . ." then rolls her eyes and giggles

I think the reason it appeals to me so much is because my father listened to it quite a bit when I was little. He was a stay at home father (he was persuing a writing career) up until I was in 8th grade. Those songs remind me of when he would take a break from his computer, and he would play computer games for me, as I was too young to have the coordination to play them. There is one song, I cannot recall it's name right now....but whenever I hear it, it reminds me of Jump Joe (a REALLY REALLY old, old, lame game). I still refer to it as "Jump Joe" music.

I think I like these songs because it reminds me of when I was young, and very very happy sitting in my father's lap, playing Jump Joe and Commander Keen.
