RIGHT! DAMN ALL THESE GREEDY PEOPLE THAT WANT SHELTER AND FOOD AND MEDICAL ATTENTION! WHEN I WAS THEIR AGE, WE GOT BY WITHOUT FOOD AND LIKED IT!
In all seriousness, you are the biggest jerk I hope I never run into. If you expect to win anybody over by suggesting that "housing," "food," and "medical attention" are extravagant luxuries that somebody needs to "draw the line" at, well, even as cynical as I am I don't think you're going to win much of a following.
> Right now. It cannot continue. These people are breaking the law.
Change it. Laws that kill people have no business being in place.
> If you think our Government doesn't care about these people you are wrong. Other countries have offered to take them in. But who is footing the bill?
Cry me a river. When people are suffering and dying, your pocketbook is the least of my concerns. If it was the only way to save somebody's life, I'd rob you blind.
> I take great offense to the statement that Australians are inhumane.
Your great offense seems to have found a voice that supports what you are objecting to.
> 460? You don't have 460 rooms available for rent in America?
They didn't come to America. If they had, and we had turned them away, I'd have been just as incensed.
> If a begger came to your door and demanded to sleep on your couch, would you let him?
(1) These people are not asking to sleep in anybody's personal homes. They are asking to sleep in someone's country. I'm sure they'd be grateful if all you did was stuff them in the Outback and let them fend for themselves.
(2) If the beggar was fleeing conditions that would made him grateful if he were stuffed in the Outback and left to fend for himself, yeah. In a heartbeat. Shame on you if you would turn him away.
> Why should we take these law breakers in?
Do you know what kind of "laws" these people have broken? Did you read ANY of the information Ellmyruh posted about? The "laws" that these people may have broken could be things like "accidentally baring an ankle in public," for which the consequence could be as much as death. If "lawbreaker" is the kindest term you can apply to such a person, then "banned" is the kindest term I can apply to you.
