For the benefit of anyone who hasn't experienced the joy that is our traffice light system, it goes like this:

Red - Stop
Red and amber - Rev up
Green - Floor it
Amber - This is your last chance
Red - Missed it

I like our red and amber phase, as it gives you time to mentally prepare yourself and finish your coffee before leaving. Being stationary on green is a Very Bad Thing, so we get some warning. I bet the people that clean your windscreen are quite glad of the rad and amber phase, too.
