Comes from living in such a big country. They're only "freeways" out west. In the eastern half of the country, they're "highways."

There's a slight difference. "Freeways" cannot be toll roads, whereas "highways" can. Toll roads are more specifically called "turnpikes."

That's odd, actually, since your population density is greater. And isn't London bigger than New York City? Maybe that's why London traffic doesn't move. You NEED some good ten lane highways. :-)

LOL. I was always amused at the different traffic light schemes in Europe.
