Say, that reminds me of an article I wrote for my school's newspaper on the school uniforms issue. I tried to placate those who feared the loss of their identity with the advent of school uniforms with "identity signs". these were large pieces of posterboard worn around the neck on which one could write a word or phrase to replace the message that used to be delivered by their garments. Everything from "[name of clique]" to "sexy" or "anti-establishment" could be communicated!

In fact, I predicted that these signs would herald a new era in human understanding, as they promised to be more effective than one's clothing.

It wasn't published, though, which is why I'm still alive today.
