I'm not absolutely sure, but I think my ancestors came to this country as illegals. That was circa 1690 and they arrived at Charles City, Virginia from England. I think they slipped past customs and immigration and ignored local laws. I don't know how they made a living without papers. I worry a lot about being deported. I'm sure there are others out there like me.
