A friend of mine never had the chicken pox as a kid, and a year ago, he got it--at age 24. They say it is worse to get it when you're older, and they aren't kidding.
> One kid showed up at daycare with chicken pox, so the people who ran the daycare made him sit by himself for a week. Of course it didn't help... all the kids got it, my brother and I at the same time. They isolated that poor Typhoid Mary (or Chicken Pox Billy or whatever) for nothing.
Is Typhoid Mary some common cultural reference, or are you just really familiar with the character I'm thinking of from the old Daredevil comics?
> Out of all the childhood diseases, isn't that the only one that remains common? I had one friend who had the mumps, but I think that they pretty much have that one eliminated. I could be wrong.
Can't help you there, sorry. I'm not up to date on my childhood diseases. :-)
