The problem, though, is that everyone has different definitions for the two terms. Some people even insist that one term or the other does not exist. For me, anyway, I've always considered a Trekkie to be a fan of the show, no matter what the level of obsession may be, and a Trekker to be someone who worked on the show, such as D.c. Fontana, Leonard Nimoy, or Kate Mulgrew.
