> This news is a truly weird change of events. Until I finished reading your original post, I was actually worried and wondering what on earth made you do such a foolish thing, but when I got the full story, I actually think you did the right thing. Three weeks is nothing, and if you're paid hourly, hey, what's the problem?

I've just got back from my second day there (I worked mornings yesterday and today, and will start full time from next week) and it's already enough to make me think I won't last the full three weeks. :-) You're right, my only real problem with working long hours right now is that I might miss opportunities to find permanent work. I bought an answering machine yesterday for our phone at home, so at least I won't miss any potential responses/offers because people weren't able to reach me.

In the meantime, it's rather nice to see that things at this company have gone from bad to worse in the two years since I left. (It's always gratifying to think you really *were* indispensable. Heh heh.)
