This news is a truly weird change of events. Until I finished reading your original post, I was actually worried and wondering what on earth made you do such a foolish thing, but when I got the full story, I actually think you did the right thing. Three weeks is nothing, and if you're paid hourly, hey, what's the problem?

> Thanks. They will undoubtedly *try* to work me overtime, but I'm not going to do it. Back when I worked there before, I did a 116-hour week once, while only getting paid for 40. The first hint of that, and I'll be inventing a job offer which requires my cancellation the very next day.

You're paid hourly! Three 116 hour weeks would give you nine weeks' pay in a third of the time! I'd think that was pretty cool. The fact that it ends in the near future makes all the difference. I couldn't face even three weeks' worth of that if the job were going to continue indefinitely, but if you can mark a date on your calendar when it all goes away, hey, rake in the cash while you can. Of course I'm assuming you have nothing else to do during these three weeks, like finding a boat job, and I guess that isn't exactly a safe assumption, is it? :-)

Again, what a truly strange turn of events. Best of luck to you.
