Hail Thee,

Agreed, my comment is definitely too general. I live close to the Belgium border and around here there is a definite difference between normal (or German) fries and Belgium fries. There was even an attempt by a Belgium company to get a patent on a special "form" for fries. To my best knowledge they did not succeed. They had "designed" this rather thick type of fries (or chips as some call them) with 6 sides instead of the more regular 4.
Generally the typical Belgium fries are notably thicker and hence more "potatoesc" (potatolike?) than standard issue fries.
