Does anyone remember the rumor that anti-perspirant gave you Alzheimer's?

When I was 16, my parents had an intervention. I was reading in my room, and they both came in and told me that using anti-perspirant led to Alzheimers. They picked up my stick of Ban, tossed it into my wastebasket, and told me that they didn't want me using it anymore. They handed me a stick of Tom's of Maine deodorant and forbade me from using anti-perspirant ever again. I found it hilarious, and when they left my room to lecture my brother on the subject, I retrieved my Ban from the trash and hid it in my underwear drawer.

Anyway, since then, the rumor has been disproven and my parent's edict on anti-perspirant hs been lifted. I still laugh when I remember it.
