Well you're lucky---it's summer, and so there are plenty of things to do that don't require money. Maybe there's a (free) festival going on in your town. Or you just meet for coffee---the cheapest date there is that doesn't make you look cheap/broke.

As for if anyone will accept your invitation, I'll be brutally honest. If you are in your early twenties, I don't think your lack of money would seriously affect her answer. At that age, no one is expected to be affluent, and so don't worry about it.

However, if you are maybe mid-forties, and you asked me out (for example) and I knew you were utterly broke, I'd be hesitant. I'd wonder if you were irresponsible, getting divorced, or the like. I don't think this is shallow---well, not really. I'd just be unsure a relationship with you would be a good idea. Though if you took me out for coffee I might get to know you better and give you a chance to explain yourself.

Sorry I don't have more suggestions for cheap dates---just look into free events in town.
