I must admit, if I could humiliate myself for the chance of making money, I would do it.

Making even a thousand dollars would help me immensely. I could pay off my tuition, buy textbooks, pay our mortgage, etc. I truly think that anything (which doesn't go against my morals) is worth it, if I make money. Money does buy happiness, in an aspect. Money would free me from worry, and I could pursue my dream job without worrying about feeding my (hypothetical) children. If I seem stupid to millions of Americans, I honestly don't care, I'm paying my bills with my prize money.

As for the gameshow aspect, I agree that some of them are ridiculous. "Who wants to be a millionaire?" takes forever to answer one question, and many questions are pop-culture, which I'm not very good at. In Britain, there is a game show called "100%"--one hundred questions in half an hour, all of which require an education.

I find the tension and delay in "WWTBAM" irritating. "Jeapordy (sp?)" is a wonderful game show, but I've noticed more pop-culture questions involved, for ratings maybe, I don't know.
