I have to disagree with that point. Hague stikes me as being the most intelligent politician in Britain at the moment. Of course, that's like being the best-mannered footballer.

His policies are sound, and I think he would make a very good PM. Well, as good as I can credit anyone being.

Billy Connoly (amongst others) has said that anyone seeking public office should be barred from standing. I tend to agree with that.
