This makes me think of that old story....it goes something like:
A man and his friend were walking along the beach. The beach was littered by sea creatures that had been left onshore during a storm. The man was picking them up as he went along, tossing them back into the water. The friend said, "Why do you trouble yourself with that chore? It doesn't really matter." The man replied, "It matters to the [crab, jelly fish, whatever the animals were, I forget]."
I don't believe in things' "meanings." If it matters to someone, it matters. Relativity has no place in meaning. Sure our lives and even our planet's span of existence is a blip compared to the universe, but that is irrelevant. Our consciousness is what makes things "matter," anyway. I think life is the most important thing there is, even though my own life (and everyone else's) is barely a blink.
