Lack of individuality? I don't know. As little as i go to the movies, perhaps 30-47.9327 % of my visits are alone. Mainly i go to movies alone out of sheer boredom or just on a spontaneous whim.

Quite frequently, much moreso than theatrical releases, probably. I would rent videos all the time, if stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood (video stores with a branch on every corner) would actually stock classic films and more than, say, 5 musicals.

I don't mind seeing comedies alone, but the bad movies genre is always more enjoyable in groups.
