Well I haven't been around for very long on Rinkworks having only just persuaded my Dad that it is infact a good idea to have the internet but I would like to lead the cheering section in welcoming you back to the wonderous place that is this message board.

I live in England so I can't really empathise with you with the exams but I can sympathise. I have my A Level exams this year which will pretty much determine the course of my future life. I have an offer to study Art History at Cambridge University but I have to get 3 As and a B to get in and History is just the hardest thing in the world. I hope your debate goes well too- you give 'em hell girl.

I too have a prom-style thing next week. We at the Sixth Form College call it the May Ball but it involves pretty dresses, tuxedos, alcohol for the over 18s and dancing the night away. I went last year when I was a first year and can remember 3 main rushes of people....

1. When someone shouted "Last Orders"
2. When the bar closed and the hall was filled with slightly intoxicated second years. This also might have something to do with the fact that...
3. ....involved Ricky Martin and "Livin' La Vie Da Loca". About 1500 students samba dancing. Picture the scene.

So anyway, I bought my dress yesterday. My friends were going for big boufty meringue-style dresses but I have done for simple understated black knee length. Plus, it was cheaper. Pus, I already had the shoes to go with it. So now I need to do something with my hair. It's kinda Meg Ryan at the moment. Maybe I'll get some wax and experiment.

I hope you find someone to go with. My friends and I are just going in a big group (although that does include some couples and the inevitable few who will get together on the night during a slow dance)but I have heard word that my best friend is trying to set me up with some of his friends. I'll keep you posted.....

So, anyway, reading back, I seem to have written quite a lot but that's what having a free period in the morning will do to you.

Take care and have fun in Toronto,
Liz"...Men. I agree. My friend and I were going to make T-shirts with "Boys Are Silly" on. We thought it might be quite theraputic..."zie
