When it was released in South Korea (maybe other countries too, I don't know), they thought it was too long, so they took out ALL the songs. It was still called "The Sound of Music" and played to enraptured audiences with no musical numbers whatsoever. I learned this from some South Korean immigrants here, years ago. It's hugely popular over there, and when they rented the video here, they were amazed to find there were all these songs in it.
