I wouldn't have asked the question, but i was curious about whether Harris' book was the one you were reading. I remember when the book came out, i have several friends (almost all girls who had horrible previous experience in dating) who have read it, but i never have.

Sort of like when i posted about lack of interest in reading Harry Potter (see link below), i never thought seriously about reading this book. I never wanted to read it because, well, i had the (recognizably arrogant) feeling that he couldn't tell me much new about his subject. I dated a max (counting "courtesy" dates and proms) of five times in high school, and i NEVER just asked a friend out. I never saw it as leading anywhere, and after the rough experience i had with Lisa this past fall, i'm even more firm.

Don't get me wrong--i'm all about getting expert advice on such subjective matters. The one i enjoyed (mainly 'cuz it's from the Bible and it's ALL ABOUT SEX AND INTIMACY) is Tommy Nelson's _The_Book_of_Romance_, a study of the Song of Solomon. Nelson is a preacher, so there are some "preacherisms" (potentially watered-down interpretations), but he's pretty straightforward.
