I read an account of a woman who regained her sight after decades of blindness. Her recollection of "grass" was of a flat, uniformly green colored expanse of lawn...so when she actually *saw* it again, she was amazed and astonished to discover the spectrum of texture and color that are really there. One of her favorite new things to do was to go out in the yard and just "watch the grass grow".
