My favorite smell is summer. I don't know how to describe it, really, but each of the seasons has a very distinctive smell. The smell of summer has a very strong association with the image of a path up our mountain, at a certain point in the summer. The scotch broom burst into full color all at the same time, so that each side of the path had ten foot walls of brilliant yellow.

Spring's good, too.

Pine forests and fir forests, dry or wet, all of which are cery different. Redwood and sequoia forests.

Snow, fresh bread, books, instruments, gasoline, waterfalls, barbecues, many of things already mentioned.

Unscented candles, bonfires, burnt marshmallows.

The coast, dunes, the beach.

Hot paper.

My grandparents' homes.

Myrtlewood.
