I live in Boulder Colorado, where the sun shines some ridiculous number of days per year (on the order of 275 to 300). It's almost never overcast. I have lots of light in my apartment, and sit by a window at work. So no, I don't think it's the lighting.

Besides, I've been depressed pretty much all my life. It's a chemical imbalance. It's made much *worse* by stress and other *naturally* depressing things, which is why it has gotten so bad recently because of my stupid job.

My mother and sister use fluorecent lights in the winter to help with their depression. They both suffer from clinical depression (it runs in my family) but for them it's made worse by the lack of light.
