Very poetic. Somewhat melodramatic, too, in a quiet, existentialist stream-of-consciousness kind of way. :-)

You sound a bit depressed, which is not unusual around this time of year. The final exam period which students have right before Christmas, and the whole 'holiday' period itself with its emphasis on (sometimes forced) cheerfulness, is a source of stress for many couples and their families. I guess it's best to remember that when things seem irresolvable, you're not alone; you don't have to go through the day feeling deadened, unloved, and unfeeling.
